Home & Radon Inspector

Home inspector Jon Fager founded 2 Rivers Inspections to provide homeowners in the Twin Cities metro with a reliable, knowledgeable and unbiased source for comprehensive home inspections. With his lengthy checklist, he methodically works his way through the many components of a home, testing and evaluating the visible and accessible elements of the property. Jon is a member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), a respected national organization that promotes high standards of practice and a strict code of ethics as well as providing education and resources.

Unlike many inspectors who have been in the trades, Jon has a degree in mechanical engineering technology with an electrical emphasis. It’s his engineering background that drives him to the “why?” of things. Why is this the current situation? Why is it in this condition? He can quickly recognize when something is not right. He senses when something is “off” and pursues it until he finds the cause—along with options for a solution.

Yes, Jon is your technical sort of guy. He has extensive mechanical expertise and experience with hydraulic systems, gas systems and electrical controls. He has a natural tendency to dig deep and analyze information to fully understand intricate elements that might send others packing. He will dive into the details and enjoy it. Yet, he has a knack for condensing data and details into explanations that make sense to everyone. He can get to the point and bring clarity to a complicated issue. Homeowners appreciate this quality regarding the results of their home inspections. Jon can go into detail or break it down to the basics. Either way, pertinent data is presented in a useful, clear-cut manner.

Having served in the U.S. Navy in the surface warfare arena, Jon has a systematic, organized and orderly approach. This works particularly well in the home inspection business so that nothing is overlooked. He has the discipline necessary to produce detailed, comprehensive reports with proper documentation. Jon’s goal is to help homeowners and buyers gain peace of mind, knowing that they truly understand the quality and condition of the property; and naturally, he enjoys working with veterans and their families.
